Post-op things I used most

I made the list of recommendations I found all over this site and here's the ones I've used the most.

* Fanny pack to keep things close at hand.
* iPod, iPhone, and charger. Listening to my relaxing music playlist helped me get some sleep during the night between vitals check ups and to respond to people checking on me.
* Peppermint Lifesavers to alleviate dry mouth.
* Lip balm!! Lips are so dry post-op.
* Journal (hospital gave me one) to ask questions, keep list of nurses to send thank you cards to or if hospital calls for survey, and to be able to track your recovery and share here.
* Grabber for home.
* Popsicles for scratchy throat (breathing tube).
* Big pillow for the wheelchair ride and ride home. Plus little pillow to put between you and the seatbelt.
* Comfy robe and gown for after the IV and catheter come out.

My hubby surprised me by staying the night with me. It was comforting having him there and he was a huge help during the day.
