2.5 months after TLH, was doing great, now in pain!

Hi,
I had what was supposed to be an LSH on 11/29/07, which turned into having both ovaries, cervix and uterus removed laparsicopically. Recovery went very well, was back to work in 8 weeks, felt great, no pain.

About 4 days ago I began experiencing a sharp, twingy pain on my left side, which was especially noticeable when I would bear down during urination. Since the the pain has become more constant and now it hurts when I sit, cough, etc. The pain is not a dull throb as much as it's a sharp twinge of pain that goes from my left side down to the opening of the vagina. It does not feel like the typical cramps I used to have.

Has anyone else experienced this? I've been waiting it out but if it doesn't resolve I'll make an appt. with my surgery. Just wondering whether this is normal or not.

Thanks!
Donna

It doesn't feel like a typical UTI (I've had plenty in the past, so I'm familiar with the symptoms.) I don't have any burning, pain during urination or urgency. But I guess it's a possibility. Thanks for your response.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this when your recovery had been going well.

It's difficult to say what it might be, but I think you're wise to see your doctor if it doesn't improve ~ any new pain, especially after 2 months, should be checked out.

Will you let us know how things go? Take care!
