Help I am Worry

Hi

Went for my six weeks appt...and it didnt go well. The dr says I have a hole in my vaginal cuff and it looks like a infection to. He started me on a cream that you insert for seven days and I have to go back in two weeks. I had shooting pain in my right front almost close to my side. I had a total hysterectomy on april 15 , and he took all except my ovary , I only had one anyways. Has this happen to anyone else ? What happen? Will it close in two weeks? It size of the hole is a quarter size...

Thanks for any advice...Im so frustrated...

Deb

Re: Help I am Worry

oh I am so sorry that you are having this happen to you. I had the granulomatous scar tissue that needed silver nitrate treatment. It was parts that hadn't healed yet. I imagine where he had sewn me back together. He treated that and then I had to go back in a week, he treated just a little bit more but said I didn't have to come back.

Hope your treatment works for you!

Re: Help I am Worry

hi Little - I wouldn't worry about it. apparantly, when they used to do this surgery many years back they didn't even make a cuff, it was just open into the area with the ovaries, etc! My doctor said that eventually it closed? I would think all is well or he might have stiched you back up.

Did you know you had an infection at all, drainage, pain, etc? i felt like I was getting a yeast infection last week but it passed (i think)

Hope you're feeling better soon!!

Re: Help I am Worry

I didnt have an infection but at 2weeks I started bleeding like a period. (Didnt expect that) Went to Dr and he said it wasnt anything I did that it wasnt "sewn" for lack of a better word. So he used silver nitrate and this brown salve looking looked like the texture of honey and I havent had a problem since. You have black stuff come out (sorry to be gross) and when he did it afterwards it cramps like a period. In the end, it stopped and everything is fine now. I had a similar problem with one of my incisions not healing on my stomach. He put butterfly bandage on it and its still not perfectly closed but much better. Bottom line, with the exception of it now being an infection sounds like this happens to a few of us. Good luck.
