lupron buddy?

Rhia - I'm just checking in to see how its going - I hope you didn't have too much pain. If its like mine I had a lot of pain and I'm still bleeding. I'm going to get my second shot tomorrow - this past month seems like it has been forever - waiting to see what will happen. At least its made my summer seem longer, but I bet it makes my school year seem longer also. I just really feel very edgy and I think I'm definitely having more joint pain than normal. I usually run and I've been having to stop sooner because my knees hurt so bad. Keep me posted on how things are going with you.

Rhia and Lesli,

(Hope I spelled your names right!) I just wanted to drop a quick note to let y'all know that the periods won't necessarily stop on Lupron. Mine didn't. They were light and short, but nevertheless THERE. So, don't get your hopes up too high. As for the mood swings-they will most likely stick with you but will lessen in severity, or did for me. I think it was the fact that my mind would keep me in check "Hello...Stacey...it's me, your 'inner voice'...ya wanna lighten up a little? That comment your mother-in-law just made wasn't directed at YOU!" Stuff like that went through my head all the time once I got to where I KNEW I was moody. So, it's gonna be all right!

I hope you ladies have success with your treatment options-I had almost 9 months pain-free from Lupron! Won't go there again but it was definitely worth the try.

Hang in there...

Hugs,
Stacey

Thanks Stacey - it really helps to hear how other people respond on Lupron. I just got my 2nd shot today and since I was still bleeding the Dr. did a pregnancy test - it was negative. He said he just always had to make sure. I'm very nauseated and dizzy today - hoping that will go away soon. Also, I have not had an appetite at all, but I've gained 3 pounds - that alone is enough to make me crazy.

Lesli,

You sound like me! (Except the pg test thing) I was dizzy a lot, NO appetite but sadly didn't lose a single pound. Nautious too, figure that's why I had no appetite or the lack of food was the cause of the nausea (could've been either way!). Maybe you ought to try to make yourself eat a tiny snack even if you aren't hungry when you feel nautious. It might help. Ya never know!

Have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Stacey

hey guys! things have been so crazy here i havent had time to check the site!

Well i started my period about 2 1/2 weeks into my shot. It was light and not too painful and only lasted about 4 days. I am still haveing alot of pain around my right ovary, and alot of joint pain. As long as i take my lexapro, my moods arent too bad, BUT i am NOT SLEEPING!!!!! ughhhhhh and it is driving me crazy. I can get up at 7 or 8am and be up all day and be ready to drop, and just lay in bed awake. usually i wont drop off until at least 2:30 or 3:00am. some nights i am up all night. Other than that i am doing just fine! lmao....
Hate to hear you are still having trouble.... i am with stacey..... you should try eatting a few small meals a day. I know my daughter is on meds that make her not want to eat, and she will feel awful. I have finally got her to at least eat some yogurt, or the carnation instant breakfasts when she isnt wanting to eat. keep us updated on how u r!

I'm sorry things have been so crazy - I'm feeling better although I'm still bleeding. I'll think its going to stop and it starts back up again. I leave for vacation on Monday and we're going to the beach again - I hope it stops enough to enjoy this trip. I haven't been sleeping well either, but Tylenol PM is helping with that. Right now it really doesn't matter if I wake up in a fog, but when school starts I won't be able to handle that. I'm also having weird pains around my ovaries - no hot flashes yet - my Dr. tells me I will get them. Oh joy!
