Upcming hysterectomy 7/21: Anxiety

I am feeling a little better today about my upcoming TLH on tuesday (21st). I had my pre-admission appt yesterday and the nurse told me for my anxiety it was ok to take my xanax the morning of my surgery. I am so happy about that as i was afraid i would have a panic attack before i even got to the hospital.

Hi Bab, I had my surgery on Tuesday of this week. I was really anxious, too. I took a little bit of Xanax the night before, and felt ok without it the morning of. But my doctor said it would be okay to take it if I needed it the day of. Good luck with your surgery. Mine went really well. ��

I'm glad to hear your doctor said you could take the Xanax if you need it. For me, just knowing that made me feel more at ease. i took it the night before, but really didn't need it the day of. Everyone at the hospital was so nice and comforting, and I felt Really calm. It wasn't anything like the scary experience I was imagining in my mind. You're going to do great!!

I'm nervous as well.. My surgery is 7/31, and I also suffer from anxiety.. I need to remember to ask if I can take something prior to surgery. Wish u all the best!!
