Easy to freeze/reheat meal ideas?
Trying to plan for my hyster next month and was wondering if anyone has suggestions of meals that freeze and reheat well? I feel I'm an ok cook but have never had to freeze anything?! And it's just me and the DH, so we don't need large quantities...thanks

I am not a cook either, but here is a few suggestions.
Any curries, that you thaw and just add vegies or rice to it.
Spagetti bol; lasange; quiches; soups.
Make them for six and store them in containers for two, works best.

Re: Easy to freeze/reheat meal ideas?
I got a receipe off of Food Network by Dwezil Zappa. Its Lasgne made in big muffin tins. Perfect size for 1 serving! Instead of noodles you use gyoza wrappers {you can get them in the produce dept}. They freeze easy and you can vary the ingredients......taco meat? turkey? pulled pork? You can also go Hungry Girl, she has a great recipe for basically the same thing, but it is for breakfast. Good luck!

Re: Easy to freeze/reheat meal ideas?
Hello, I'm having surgery in one week. What types of foods do you suggest ... the doctor says a soft diet and I can't eat yogurt. So, is applesauce, eggs, grapes, bananas, etc. okay?

Re: Easy to freeze/reheat meal ideas?
BBQ pulled port sandwiches come to mind. You can make this in the crockpot. Get a cheap pork cut - pork shoulder is usually cheap. Rinse meat and rub with a little salt and pepper. I sear mine but thats just because meat in the crockpot doesn't brown. Cover with water, add a little bbq sauce say 1/4 cup. Set on high for about 5 hours or until falling apart. Remove meat from crockpot, pull apart using two forks. Add bbq sauce. Serve on hamburger buns. You can freeze both the meat and the hamburger buns. This tastes way better than any prepackaged stuff in the store.
Also there are some brands of frozen ravioli in the freezer section. Boil that, strain and add a canned sauce. Easy !!
I make chili in my crockpot and that freezes nicely. There's frozen cinnamon rolls by Rhodes - they're in a round tin - you don't even wait for the oven to preheat you just set the temperature and put them in - they come with a frosting. mmmmmmmm
you'll do fine and eat like a princess to boot !!!!

Re: Easy to freeze/reheat meal ideas?
Stews, chili, lasagna, mini meatloaf's(do the meatloaf in cupcake pan), chicken and rice, mac and cheese(add ground beef and extra cheese for a variation, taco meat(shred the cheese and freeze it to, then you only have to cut lettuce and tomato), spaghetti sauce (only noodles to cook then), meatballs, and sloppy joe filling. Hope that helps. : )
