Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

I am in day 3 of recovery. Thinking about all the research I did trying to be prepared for this. I can only say that it still doesn't prepare you for the way you feel because we are not all the same. We have different views and lives from anyone else, but we have so much in common with each other. That is why this site is important that because of the differences in life and experience as well as what we have in common that we can help each other.

The great thing about the way this website works: If you are one day ahead of someone else, you can offer support. If you are two weeks ahead, 1 month ahead or 3 months ahead, you have your experience to share to help calm the fears and answer the questions of your HysterSisters.

The circle of support at HysterSisters goes on and on as you help another sister.

Please stop by the pre-op forums and reply to questions for our sisters who are frightened and have concerns as they face their surgery.

And please look for threads here in post-op forum area where your experience can be shared to help another member!

You will be helping your HysterSisters while you gain warm fuzzies in our circle of support!

It's good! And we thank you for giving your support to your sisters.

Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

As a new member I have already posted a couple of times in particular one I wrote was to answer a sister who was experiencing a new type of pain. So I truly hope my reply was of some help to her.
Others have helped me by just telling their stories.

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

I have been talking to a sister who posted in the middle of the night (Seattle time). I saw her post and hoped someone with more experience would answer her. I did and tried to help and I hope it helped, even a little. She was still in the hospital, in pain, and I was home in less pain!

This is such a great site and I'm thankful that I found it!

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

I would be happy to give support but I'm only 4 days post-op from surgery. Finding HysterSisters was a Godsend. I've read so much on here pre and post surgery that's helped me considerably. Without this site I would have been clueless about my surgery. I've enjoyed it so much I signed up for the membership. Good luck and speedy recovery to everyone.

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

i can help by helping people with some multiple health and mental conditions how to cope pre and post op-

mental conditions i have: Major Depression, Bipolar 2, Anxiety, borderline personality disorder, borderline panic disorder, possible PTSD.

physical conditions: 3 back surgeries ( faicng another 2), dislocating pelvis, on the waitlist for a new knee, reflux, IBS, nerve damage from the waist down that affects all my lower bosy systems including walking, chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome and Fibromylagia, and diverticulitis.

Since my hystreectomy less than 14 days ago, i already feel my energy levels picking up. Still get tired but in between the tiredness it is definately on the rise for the first time in some 20 years!

If i can help any of my sisters worldwide by what i have been through, then God has allwoed me to go through it to help these ladies!

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

I'm four weeks post op and have appreciated this circle of love. Everything I could have anticipated was talked about here. It's nice to know we are not alone and that if we have questions some one is likely to share from their experience. Not everything is good by the surgeon and many questions and fears arise. Thank you for being here and I'm up to belong anyone with my experience is needed. Thank you sisters,

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

Hi Im Kate and 1 1/2 weeks post. I've been trying to read people's posts and say something inspiring but I'm such an emotionless type person. I'm a scientist and see most every thing as very black and white. So I'm afraid to post because it may come off rude and clinical. Ugh. Hopefully everyone is feeling good or steady/ not nervous ( pre op), seeing the better side of recovery. Now I'm onto find a discussion about sneezing, getting aroused (sorry graphic) and it hurts like holly moly.
