A little hint for LIW...

Hello everyone,
This is my first post after receiving my crown on Sept. 21. Before my surgery, I read all the posts here and found so many great hints to get myself and the home ready for my recuperation time and followed them all which made things sooo much easier.
But....one issue that I'm dealing with now, 2 1/2 weeks post-op. I find I didn't plan on anything to wear when I could finally get out of the house! My stomach is sore up to the belly button (inside) and the incision area too so anything tight over this area is very irritating so much of what I have to wear out of the house is not wearable.
So, just a little hint for you all planning your post-op time, try to have a few outfits that you wouldn't be embarrased to be seen in when you feel up to going out that are loose around the waist. I wish I had!!

Best wishes for you all!

Diane

Swelly Belly...ugh!

Hi U & I!

I also did not plan on feeling like I just gave birth...and not able to comfortably wear clothes!

Fortunately, I have sweats...and lotsa lounge pj's that you can wear out...and a SO with some super looking big shirts! I just left my pants undone!

I am just so grateful to have had my surgery when we still have some warm weather! I don't know what I could have worn that is warm and big...without feeling like a blimp! I practically live in boxers and tees...or lounge pants and tees!

A little hint for LIW...

Dear u and i,
Thanks for the tip. I went to Lane Bryant and got a huge pair of pants and 2 matching shirts. I'm not sure I want to be seen in them!! However after a few weeks of cabin fever I may change my mind. Hopefully all of my loose dresses will work when I go back to school, after all they hid those big fibroids all these months!!
Stay well. Jan

Don't forget about bibs, if they are something you can wear. now that the weather is cooler put on a sweater underneath them and look pretty "stylin'. I also would recommend a pair of scrubs from Walmart. $12.00 and ooooo so comfy. They aren't something you could wear to dinner, but they will do for a walk at the mall.

Overalls Rule!

I ditto the bib overall suggestion! They put no pressure on the tummy and are very comfy. I've been wearing mine so much I'm beginning to feel more like a farm hand than a princess! Now I gotta find some velvet ones for evenings out on the town!

Overalls!! Now that's something I never thought of but sounds great! Someday when I feel up to it I'll see if I can find some.
How long do you suppose this irritation over the belly lasts? I do know the swelly belly lasts up to 6 months, but the discomfort?
All I know, ladies, is that this is an adventure and all of you have made it so much more pleasant! I never would have been as well informed as I am if I hadn't found this site!!!
Thanks! Diane

Hi Again...

Hi U and I & All...

Just wanted to respond to the "how long" aspect of this?

I am now at 7 weeks (today!) post-op and I am able to start wearing my clothes more comfortably. Skin tight jeans are still not the best...but almost everything else seems o.k.. I know that one deterrent to wearing certain things, is that my SwellyBelly made me LOOK ugh...even though I could fit into things. (I wear a lot of clothes that normally accentuate my waist!) I found myslef putting on big and baggy shirts to cover up my Buddha Belly!

Still...7 weeks is not too bad!
