Someone please help me re: rectocele repair

I went to see my OB/GYN because of symptoms from a rectocele and cystocele. I'd just had an abnormal pap smear in December 2014. He recommended radical hysterectomy with rectocele and cystocele repair. I agreed and had it done April 2, 2015. When I came out of recovery he told me that after removing the uterus the bladder moved back into place as did the rectocele and therefore they did not do those two repairs, just the hysterectomy. I was initially pleased because I felt he responsibly avoided doing two unnecessary procedures. However, I am two days post op and still have not had a bowel movement and felt a lot of pressure in the rectal area, but no urge to "go" which I assumed was constipation from pain meds. I just went into the bathroom and even though I was instructed "NOTHING IN THE VAGINA" for six weeks, I inserted my thumb and the RECTOCELE IS STILL THERE!!! I am so depressed and angry right now. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yikes! I know you must be so upset. I am confused on why your dr did not repair the rectocele. They don't go away on their own. I had mine repaired 3 weeks ago. Maybe you need to see a dr who specializes in these repairs like a urogynocologist. Maybe someone can chime in with a similar experience. Take care.
