Clearance to bathe/swim

When the office called to check on me at 2 days post-op I asked about swimming. She said as long as I wasn't bleeding then it's ok. I had a LAVH.

But after reading all your responses...I think I'll wait till my post-op appt in 9 days!

My doctor said 6 weeks! I have a nice big swimming pool that I really want to get in to.... I go in up to my thighs. I'm also a bather... I used to take a bath every night... it's been 4.5weeks since my last bath... I can't wait for the all clear.

my dr said nothing for six weeks too.

No tub baths or swimming for me until I was 6 weeks post-op.

I just had a TAH w/ both ovaries removed on 8/2/10 and my kids are dying to get back to the shore before summer is over and school starts. LOL I have my next follow-up in about 2 weeks, so it will be 4 weeks by then...hoping he gives the okay at that time!

Good luck....hope you get to lounge in the hot tub soon!

definitely ask your doctor. mine said no hot tub for 12 weeks. but i have a vaginal cuff.....

My doctor let me get in the bath tub the NEXT day after surgery!!! But I forgot to ask about the hot tub and have been looking at it longingly... You have all convinced me to wait. I'm the only one who ever gets in it so it's not like I'd get someone else's germs....
