1 week on premphase and all messed up

Ugh . . . . Premphase . . . my last hope before having to do the hyst. My body is rejecting it big time with the horride one sided headaches, the heavy one sided feeling on the side of the head and the loss of hearing in the ear on the side of the headache.

I finally couldn't take anymore and stopped the pills this morning and have put in a call to my dr.

The pelvic pain and pressure has not subsided and now it is in my lower back and still spotting (3 weeks after a D&C and hysterscope).

sigh.......... I am feeling like such a pest to my dr and a wimp to my family.

just needing some little pick me ups.

frustrated....how long to wait

sigh.....had endomitrial biopsy (benign) on Aug 9th, 2 weeks later had D&C and hystoscope (a polyp removed and thickening on one side of uterus, again Thank God, benign), now three weeks later, still spotting and pressure pain and heaviness to pelvic area and lower back. had premphase for 1 week (cannot take due to bad side effects).

I just got off the phone with dr's nurse and she said that he said that it was ok to stop the premphase. I asked her what he said about the pressure pain and he said to play it by ear. I asked her, well, I am spending my days on motrin and my nights on motrin and with a heating pad . . . how long is long enough to wait?

Has anyone else had to deal with this and how long is enough. I have also been spotting and occaisional bleeding since the D&C.

Any advise would be ever so helpful!!!

Thanks ladies!!

Frustrated

Gramme - I don't know how long you wait but I can relate to what you are going through. It seems that lots of things have to be eliminated before a decision can be made. I had two D&Cs, a failed ablation (punctured my uterus by accident during the procedure) constant bleeding and was on all kinds of hormones to regulate things. Finally four years and six doctors later, I had a hysterectomy. I guess lots of conditions had to be ruled out first. Hang in there. I can understand your frustration. Hope you have a decision soon as to the best way to treat your conditions. Take care! muel

1 week on premphase and all messed up

Thanks Muel,

Oh my, four years and six doctors, wow!!! I really feel silly complaining about my plight after reading what you have gone through.

I have been very happy with my doctor and I know that he has to try different things. He has been very pro-active with me and I am just not used to not feeling good and I am not a complainer, so this really is going against my nature. :confuse:

You know . . . after I posted my message, I got to thinking to myself and I KNOW the pain and pressure that I have been feeling is real and it is not normal, so I just picked the phone right back up and called the dr office and made an appointment to see the dr again. They got me on this Wed at 11:30am. I just couldn't see waiting to see if this is going away when it is just getting more painful and then I would have to wait another 2 to 3 days to get in to see him. ya know!!

Thank you soooo much for your reply!! God Bless!!

Hi Kim,

I'm awfully sorry that you are having a reaction to the PremPhase, and am glad that you decided to call your doctor's office back and make an appointment - This way, even if your pain has subsided (and I really hope that it will ease up quickly) you can still talk with him about what your next step will be.

Have you had a chance to read some of the information about alternatives to a hysterectomy? There's a section in the HS Resource Library that you might want to check into.

I'm not sure from your post whether you have endometriosis or fibroids - the Resource Library also has information on endo and fibroids that might be helpful to you.

Also, I hope you don't mind, but I merged both of your posts into this one thread, since they go together.

Please keep us posted on how you are feeling.

1 week on premphase and all messed up

Hi Karen,

Thank you for your response and tip to look at the resourse library. I will do that.

My main problem is the excessive bleeding, pain and pressure to the lower pelvic and lower back. No fibroids were found and he has never said anything about endometriosis.

I have had several surgeries in the past 10 years, 2 ovarion cysts removed (I still have my overies), in 2000 I had a cyst rupture and the fluid somehow backed up into my fallopian tube and it filled up like a polish sausage (gross)!! haha Anyways, the dr removed my fallopian tube.

I have not had any problems up until July of this year when I started getting bad pelvic pain and pressure, then the excessive bleeding and clotting started and the dr has been trying to get to the bottom of it ever since.

So . . . . . hopefully, I will know more tomorrow after my appt with the dr.

Thanks so much and God Bless
