Bigger belly: fibroids or eating?

I'm sure this is going to sound really really silly, but here goes:

I'm pretty sure I have gained weight in the past month (I don't own a scale). It seems that it's mostly in my belly.

Could it be my fibroids getting bigger (I have been told I have 3 walnut to golfball size and 1 grapefruit size at doc appt a few weeks ago) or could it be that since I was told I need a hyster I've been eating not so healthy....? I wouldn't think that either one could make me gain so quick.

Re: Bigger belly: fibroids or eating?

I'm thinking it could be either that you have been eating salty food and are retaining water...

or

that your fibroids have increased in size. Mine sometimes seem to definitely increase and decrease in size. It increases at the beginning of my cycle especially. Ever since it got the eviction notice aka surgery date, it seems to have increased and also given me the worst 2 periods in a long time just to spite me!

My belly always seemed larger when it was "that time of the month." It probably is water or salt retention. Not sure if you are a water drinker, but the more you get in the better you will feel. Plus it helps get the water retention moving

LOL! aloecma, that's exactly how I think of it, this fibroid is like an illegal squatter in my body! The thing is bigger than last night I swear! I half expect to have an additional unexpected early period prior to "eviction", it's angry! It's not being a good part of the team, time to go!

Re: Bigger belly: fibroids or eating?

My uterus grew from the size of a baseball when I found the fibroid to the size of a large football by the time they took my uterus out 5 months later. It definitely could be fibroids that are growing.
