Crazy Moments, or Just Plan CRAZY?

I underwent a hysterectomy back at the end of April. Everything went fine. I had the pain from healing, but was met with relief a couple of weeks later. I will be 4 months post op, and for the last few weeks have been dealing with some pretty surious cramps. Along with spotting that started to makes it presence known today. I don't know if this is normal, or something to be concerned about. Either way it has me freaking a little bit. I called the doctor, but could only leave a message for the phone nurse. I am waiting on a call back right now. My husband and I did have sex last night, but nothing out of the ordinary, and I haven't spotted any other time. So why the spotting today? Did anybody else experience this post op? If so what happened with you?

Re: Crazy Moments, or Just Plan CRAZY?

You did the right thing calling the doctor. Try to relax and wait for the return call. Many different things can cause your complaints, so try not to worry to much. Hopefully you will get a call back soon. Do you feel like your getting progressively worse?

No just really crampy with the spotting. It feels like I am having a period with the bleeding being replaced by spotting. It's not getting in my panties, but it's on the toilet paper when I wipe. The cramps are what bothering me the most. I had a few cyste when they did the hysterectomy that he drained. I am wondering if they have come back? I was able to keep my ovaries so I am assuming its possible..

Could be. What type of surgery and for what reason? Are you trying to take it easy today? What have you tried to relieve cramping?

I have tried relaxing, but with 2 little ones that only last for so long. I am STILL waiting to hear back from the dr.s office. I had a LAVH for uterine prolaspe, fibroids, adenomyosis, and varicose veins in the vagina. I had cyst on my left ovary as well. The doctor was pretty interested in the whole case when he realised what all was going on with a 24 year olds uterus. As for the relief of the cramping I have tried tylenol, and midol..

Re: Crazy Moments, or Just Plan CRAZY?

Could be as simple as a bit to much activity. It is hard with young kids but it would be worth the experiment if you were able to climb into bed, pop in a movie and everyone hang out for a couple of hours to see if your cramping decreases some. Do you still have varicose veins they could be a culprit. If nothing else maybe try some ice or heat to help with the pain.
Hang in there, can you get someone to help with the kids tomorrow? Even if you owe someone a day down the road. I hope the doctor calls you soon.
