Re: Will the pre menstral pain go away?

I am very happy to hear about no longer having to live with debilitating pre-menstrual/menstrual cramps and bleeding like a stuck pig every 20 days. I can't believe I lived with that for so long without consulting a gynecologist.

Re: Will the pre menstral pain go away?

The cramps you won't but if you feel discomfort or mood swings with your cycle that depends on the woman. I had my ovaries removed for that reason since part of the reason I was having the hyster was to eliminate the PMDD symptoms. I have a friend that had an emergency hyster and just the hyster not the tubes or ovaries and she commented that she can tell when she ovulates just like before. Hope that helps clear things up for you and helps answer your question.

Re: Will the pre menstral pain go away?

I had fibroids that caused that same pain. I felt a much milder version of it periodically after my surgery, but it was always either from gas or soreness from doing too much. It's become more and more rare as time has moved on. Now, three months out, I almost never have it. So glad!

Re: Will the pre menstral pain go away?

I used to have severe cramping with my periods and have had no pain since! No signs of pms at all. Thinking most my crankiness now was due to dread and the pain instead of hormones cause I'm really feeling no signs of ghost pms pains or mood swings now!

Re: Will the pre menstral pain go away?

I am same day as these ladies as well. I am wondering about the crazy emotional stuff that goes along with a period ... Like feeling the world will end the day before my period starts. Does that stop as well?

Re: Will the pre menstral pain go away?

I was on my period for 2 weeks before my surgery and after my surgery I bled for a few days and all the pain other than surgery pain was gone. Surgery soreness was all I have felt in 4 weeks.

Re: Will the pre menstral pain go away?

I have horrible cramps, mood swings, back pain and heavy bleeding. This is affecting my way of life and whole family. I feel so guilty & depressed. I have been going through this since the age of 13. My Drs and I have tried antidepressants but I quit taking them because I had a gut feeling that it all had something to do with my menstration cycle and it wasn't until after my 2nd child that my symptoms worsened. I am now researching hysterectomys to see if this is the the way to go. I sometimes even get 2 periods in a month. I am considering a hysterectomy since I believe this is where most of my problems are coming from. I didn't know keeping your ovaries were an option. What are the benefits to this and to anyone after you had surgery did your premenstral symptoms go away? Any comments are welcome. Thank you
