Didn't poop yet 6 days after hysterectomy��

6 days into recovery. Feeling good except that I haven't had a BM yet. A lot of gas though. Maybe I just have to be patient.

Walking and drinking water should help. If that does not help, GasX and a mild laxative should help with the gas and constipation. They gave me both in the hospital. You should consult your doctor of course.

Six days was about how long it took for me to get things moving. In addition to walking and drinking water, try peppermint tea, and supplementing your diet with magnesium; food sources include leafy greens, whole grains, nuts and seeds, and dark chocolate. For the gas, in addition to walking and peppermint tea, also try fennel seeds, and avoid gassy foods; that includes legumes, onions, cabbage and its relatives, cucumbers, melons, pears, and artificial sweeteners. The gas could also be related to the constipation, so taking care of that should also help. Best wishes for your continued recovery!

I am 5 days post hysterectomy and took too many laxatives however now in a lot of pain like period pain...any ideas?

Hi I did the same thing. I ask my doctor, she told me to take a stool softener. The pain pills was causing me to be constipation. Now I eat applesauce, apple, and pears. I can now go on my own.

it took me 5 days, even on stool softeners 3x/ day. I didn't get significant relief from gas pain until my BM, then the gas finally started to pass. Walking and drinking water are also key to getting your system going again. Good luck.

Am worried about my 1st bm - pain, strain etc. Taking lactulose 3x a day. Only out of hospital yesterday and still not much of an appetite.
