enlarged uterus

HAS ANYONE BEEN TOLD THEY HAVE AN ENLARGED UTERUS. I WENT TO MY DR. AND THAT IS WHAT HE TOLD ME A CT SCAN SHOWED. I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH CYSTS ON THE OVARIES, ADHESIONS AND HEAVY BLEEDING AND PAIN. I HAVE BEEN TOLD I WILL NEED A TOTAL ABDOMINAL HYSTERECTOMY AND AM WAITING FOR THE DR TO CALL WITH THE DATE.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH QUESTIONS ON THE ADHESIONS. WILL THEY RETURN AFTERWARDS AND CAUSE PROBLEMS AGAIN AND WHAT WOULD BE THE CAUSE FOR AN ENLARGED UTERUS. ANY INFO WILL BE OF HELP TO ME. I WISH YOU ALL LUCK.

Welcome! Some reasons for an enlarged uterus are thickened endometrial lining, fibroids, adenomyosis, and damage to the uterus during pregnancy. Cancer causes swelling as well.

Adhesions can return after treatments and specific removal. I don't know if they return after hysterectomy though. Do you have endometriosis? Your doctor can explain in detail some of these possibilities to you, or you can do your own research on the internet.
