Odd pain in my bladder

I'm a month out and I'm noticing sometimes if I completely drain bladder I get an end pain. It's not like a UTI it almost feels like a cut/ scratch pull kinda thing .
It's weird I plan on mentioning it to my dr at. 6 wk post op.
I have never been pain free , always little tweaks or cramps or uncomfortable .

It might be a bladder infection. When I get a bladder infection, that is when I get the twinge/catchy feeling… at the very end. The first time it happened, I didn't realize that is what was going on and never thought anything of it because it only happened once or twice. And one of those times was for a urine culture so I got lucky there. I got a call from the doctor a week later saying that they had called in a prescription for a bladder infection. I was quite surprised but it was good timing since I never thought anything of it. Please go get checked.

Re: Odd pain in my bladder

Im 3 weeks post op TAH and i stil have pain when i pee. The dr says its "normal" and most likely from the foley catheter which i had in only for about 12 hours but it was a very uncomfortable and complicated 12 hours. The dr says it will just take time for everything to heal.

I too believe it is from the catheter . I have had many UTI and its not that kind of sensation . I just hope it's not something permanently damaged from the catheter .

Re: Odd pain in my bladder

I will say, I never had a bladder infection until this surgery. UTIs, sure. I had what you described and Initially my doc said it was just my bladder hesitating from surgery and that it would improve. Several weeks later I brought it up again at one of my post ops and I was sent to give a urine sample. Boom! Bladder infection. Definitely address it with your doctor. I have had 3 since that first one all felt the same way.

Re: Odd pain in my bladder

My bladder is not 100% back to normal after 7 weeks.

I asked my Dr on Thursday (I had a small issue in hospital where my bladder didn't really drain all day and it wasn't until that night as I was in major pain that they realized that it was the tube) she told me that because the bladder is right there in all the action, sometimes the nerves can get not damaged, but "hurt" and they will repair on there own in a month or two.

She did a test just in case but I have no other symptoms of an infection except I barely can tell when I have to pee!
