Now I remember...

Why I thought Lupron was a good idea. After 6 months with no period, I had just about forgotten how miserable I had been. It's hard to believe that 6 months have come and gone so quickly, but the piercing pain in my abdomen tells me that my temporary reprieve has been lifted. Here we go again.
I opted to have Lupron injections to buy myself some time. Hubby was full time student and I could not afford to take time off from work for hysterectomy. My doc and I discussed that Lupron wasn't the answer, only a temporary fix due to adenomyosis, but then doc started back peddling. We had decided that January would be hysterectomy, but at my visit for 2nd injection he says he wants to wait because after Lupron wears off I could have months without problems. Well, there were no months. I had my last injection in early sept and I am already in pain again. Cramps, back pain, hip pain, nausea, constipation, diarrhea...you name it. I had to leave work early today due to my total inablilty to stand in an upright position and I have my doubts about tomorrow. I am sooooo sick of this. I intend to call doc on monday to schedule an appt for visit, if not hysterectomy.
Make no mistake, my uterus and I will part ways early in 2008. I wonder if a doc has ever been forced to do a hysterectomy at gunpoint----joking, of course. I just want my life back.

Best of luck with the doctors, you might want to leave the gun at home. But I do appreciate the idea. Have had adeno for over 20 years, and couldn't get anyone to even diagnose it let alone fix. I realize it is difficult to diagnose but after Lupron you have nothing left. My diagnosis actually came with the pathology report following the LAVH my DH told the doctor he was doing.
Hey there's an idea, is your DH an intimitading person? joking (but it did work for me)
Best of luck with the docs.

I just got another Lupron shot and have my appt with my gyno on Thursday. I know exactly what you are talking about with the pain being back. I actually had to bump up my shot by one week first, then another few days because the symptoms were returning. Now when I go in on Thursday...if I don't get the finalized date or if my gyno starts to back pedal, there will be heck to pay. I have dealt with this long enough, done all the things suggested, went through those shots which make me feel horrible physically and emotionally, now it is time to get on with it.

While my husband is certainly not imtimidating, he could surely tell stories to them about how it makes HIM feel when I am having these problems endlessly, if that doesn't make them want to do it on schedule just to make him be quiet, I don't know what will.

Oh My God, you just describe me to a tee.

I was also on the Lupron injections, but once my period returned I was miserable. I went to the DR and told her I am done with this. My surgery is Jan 2nd. for ovary removal & uteris. I am afraid of the menopause symptoms and the thought of taking HRT, maybe a herbal or something natural might help for the symptoms. Any body taking a herbal natural supplement? Let me know sisters.

I am taking Premarin right now with the Lupron. The Dr. didn't want me to have to deal with menopause symptoms along with the other Lupron side effects. I have started that thesame day I had my first shot. I can't imagine if would have been worse.

Ok, so I forgot to call the gyn on monday, but in a moment of intense pain I called the office from work today. I explained my situation to his nurse and she actually put me on the schedule for Jan 28th! Whoohoo. Of course I still have to go in and see him on the 3rd to discuss our "options". I went ahead and started the paperwork for my time off. I am sooooo excited. To think, I might actually be able to get rid of all this crap!

I'm glad your doctor doesn't want to stall about this, congrats on getting a surgery date! I hope you will be feeling better soon. The Lupron was worth a try, certainly some women get many months of relief with it, but it just doesn't work for everyone.

Congrats phatgurl!

That must be a load off. I go in tomorrow it the gyno and it can't get here soon enough. I have my list and all the questions I need to ask and I all of that stuff.

Again, I am happy for you getting it scheduled!
