bulge on left side of vertical incision

I have a vertical incision after my TAH on 2-14 and am very happy with my recovery so far. I am getting more worried about a bulge on the left side of my incision, however, since it won't go away and is noticeably bigger than my right side. I asked my surgeon about it 6 days post-op, and she said that the colon is on the left and it could cause swelling when full... Sure, but now it's been 15 days and my digestion is back to normal, so I would have thought that the bulge would subside by now.
Has anyone had experience with this?

The first thing I thought of is maybe a hernia, but I would suggest talking to your doctor again. Instead of asking your surgeon you might want to ask your GP.

How much larger are we talking from side to side... I would tend to agree with Catherine if it is significantly bigger that it might be a hernia.
Don't be afraid to ask questions of your doctor... that is what they are there for.
