ive got a cancellation!

I had a cancelation the night BEFORE my original surgery date. Wanna talk about an inconvenience. We were through TOTALLY cleaning the house, the car, had all the arrangements made for the kids, it was ALL done. I was FURIOUS to say the least. I was a total nervous wreck already and the cancelation just made it 10 times worse. (God bless my DH for not hoppin on the next thing on wheels to get away from me) Luckily, we got it reshedualed for the following week. Keep us posted!

ive got a cancellation!

I too had my surgery cancelled just before the big day. I was feeling so prepared!!! I have to wait 1 1/2 weeks from original surgery date. But the big day is Wednesday. I wish I could have had surgery moved up like Jackie. This waiting is getting old. Good luck to you Jackie. You have plenty of time to prepare and luckily less time to wait. My best to you....

ive got a cancellation!

I too was lucky and got somebody elses cancellation date.
I had tried a lot of other options before I went for the big one.
Even though I only had 6 days notice I still managed to have major panic attacks. My biggest fear, Never having been in hospital before, was that I wouldn't wake up. I was tempted to write letters to people just in case but when I thought about this I realised it would only upset them too.
When the date arrived thay gave me a sedative about an hour before hand to relax me. The operation went well and I was discharged on Day 4. I had 26 staples and they stayed in for 10 days.
When I think of all the pain, sickness and even expense I used to have I know I made the right decision. I now feel like a whole new person.
Good Luck on your big day.
