novasure april 2005
i'm new to these discussions, though i have refered to this site many times over the last few months and have found it most helpful. maybe my experience could add information for you as well as help me...
i am 34 and have 1 child now 15. i had very heavy periods from the start which every woman in my family dismissed as hereditary. i've never used birth control since my sons birth and have never been pregnant since. in 2002 i started cramping every month for the first time(i was lucky that way) and it progressively got worse till i was in tears, pacing, sleeplessness, etc. i'd bring changes of clothes to work(if i got there at all). long story short,in 2005 a found a dr who recommended the novasure. she believed the pain was from the severity of bleeding.what a miracle!!i was cramp and period free until spring 2006 when cramping like never before started again, but still no blood. i did come out of the ablation with a severe endometrial infection though which ended up keeping me out of work for a week. lots of gas trapped in my shoulder and neck as well. this dr said they found NO endo, nofibroids, no cysts, no nothing-except that one ovary wasn't "functioning properly". short of having my husband tested, this could explain my infertility.i also cannot take birth control with out adverse effects.jump to today- ive just come back from a dr who says im facing either hysterectomy or uterine embolisation. a trip to the ER 3 weeks ago found a 5cm fibroid and hemmorraghic cysts on both ovaries which had ruptured. so my question is could the ablation (in which they also tied my tubes) have anything to do with my current situation or was it just my luck?i still do not bleed, which is the bright side with everything else going on. i am in some sort of pain everyday and until i can reach a surgical decision all i have is "pain management". the dr thinks the fibroid is the source of pain and somewhat dismisses the cysts. he says i'm too young to remove my ovaries, but what if they are the recurring pain. without hysterecomy won't there be a chance that more fibroids will grow back? i still reccommend ablations, but do your homework. i wish i had been more educated long ago instead of deperate for a quick fix.

has anyone had endometrial ablation?
Hi Spotfree,
I'm new to this site, and am reading everything as fast as I can to gain information. But to answer your question, I just had an ablation surgery 6 weeks ago and have already had two periods the last being heavy with cloting again and the works. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow to discus the LSH he had recomended before. I hoped the ablation would prevent me having to have a hysterectomy, but is seems I have adenomyossis and the ablation cannot reach all of my enometrial tissue. I don't have a lot of pain from my periods, but the bleeding makes it immpossible to live a normal life. I never thought I would ever consider a hyst. I just don't know what to do.

has anyone had endometrial ablation?
I had my ablation on October 13, 2007 and will have a total hysterectomy on November 15, 2007. What a waste of good money huh? I requested an ablation and my doctor agreed. I had started seeing him in August for pelvic pain and he found that I had pelvic floor defects and kinda forgot I was mainly there for pelvic pain. So he did a lap and found ANOTHER cyst and drained it and then went on from there with surgery plans to fix my pelvic floor. I still had pain and he investigated bladder problems, which I had none other than stress incontinence. So, when I saw him this past Tuesday and was still complaining of pain he almost acted frustrated with me and decided that maybe I did need a hysterectomy. So that is why I will have a hysterectomy after an ablation - one month after. He is my second opinion doctor and I have tried bcp's, change of diet, progesterone creams, herbs, vitamins and have had two cysts removed during laps. One that was torsioned and bleeding.

has anyone had endometrial ablation?
I am lucky to have my ablation last longer then some, I can't say it was as much of a success as I was told it would be, since I found this site I know I am not alone, I just hope a hyst. will solve some of our problems. I am not sure I even want to go through a hyst. I can't even begin to think I can do this alone. Good luck ! God Bless Us All! Big Hugs!!

has anyone had endometrial ablation?
Hey girls!
I had an EA in June 2005. Things have been great for me period-wise since the EA. Periods are down to 3 days of slight bleeding (used to be 10-12 days flooding). No pains, no cramps, nothing. PMS seems to be better too. However, during a routine physical, my dr. felt something, sent me for an ultrasound, a referral to my GYN, and I have found out that I have developed fibroids sometime in the last two years. I had NONE before the EA. I presented with a 10 week uterus, and had it been larger, the GYN would have had me in the OR before Christmas. However, for now, unless I start to experience symtoms from the fibroids, I am just scheduled for a repeat ultrasound in March. If the fibroids have grown, he is suggesting a hyster in the spring. Since I have enjoyed good results from the EA, all of this has taken me by surprise. Looking back, I have had some symptoms regarding my bladder, so I am thinking that by the time March comes, my uterus will be bigger than 10 weeks. Hopefully, not much bigger, so I can have the least invasive hyster, with the quickest recovery time. I am a stay-at-home mom, so no need to rush back to work after the hyster, but there is a need to rush back to life. Two kids are teens, and everyone knows, they never slow down!!
