Is it ok to swim after 6 weeks?

I forgot to ask doc, I saw him for my one and only post op visit at 4 weeks. I had a TAH with cervix removed. I was wondering if pool or ocean water could cause an infection?

Is it ok to swim after 6 weeks?

My doctor actually said to wait 3 weeks before going into the pool. I thought that was way too soon so I waited until 5 1/2 weeks post op. I had no problem.

Thanks so much for the info. I'm going to florida and it would suck not to be able to swim!

my doc released me at 6 weeks for everything, including swimming.
