Back pain almost 2 yrs after Hysterectomy

Hi, I'm wondering if my body is still adjusting to this change. I had my hysterectomy on June 12, 2007 and it took be about 6 months to get any energy back and another 12 months to get my emotions back to "normal." I had my uterus, cervix, and one ovary removed.

I had a huge fibroid that enlarged my uterus to 5 months (probably closer to 6 months by the time of my surgery) and had to have stints placed in my ureters to protect my kidneys during surgery. After surgery my upper back hurt for about 2 weeks due to my ureters being irritated from the stints.

In January of this year (for about a month) and this May I began to seriously workout to try and lose this weight - I'm about 100 lbs over-weight. And my lower back started to hurt when I tried to walk on my treadmill or to lift weights. I'm pretty sure that I have good form when I lift weights and I've always enjoyed walking to lose weight. Now though I have to stop every few minutes because my lower back is killing me and I have to stretch out the muscles.

Could my hysterectomy have done something to my back muscles? If so what can I do? I really want and need to lose this weight. I eating good but I have to exercise too!

i doubt it has anything to do with your hysterectomy. i'd probably start out going to an orthopedist to look into the pain. have you tried something with less impact like an eliptical trainer? thats more of a gliding motion.

I don't belong to a gym and I can't afford to get an elliptical so I will just have to live with the pain I guess.
