Fibroids pressing on nerves

Hi Everyone!

It's one month and counting until my surgery (abdominal hyster and removal of ovaries) and I'm not getting much sleep because of pain that wakes me up. Has anyone else had leg/knee pain (left side) that woke them up several times a night? This lasted more than a month then was gone for a few weeks and now is back. Can't figure out what brings it on but know that saggy sitting cushions or not having a pillow in bed to lift my leg on (mind you t hat isn't helping much anymore). I'm on continuous birth control pills for my third month now and I love not having heavy periods, migraines, and my immune system always weak. But this pain makes me long for surgery because at least then there will be an end in sight after a few months...hopefully. I use to get sciatica from time to time over the years so maybe that is why this is happening.

Thanks for letting me complain.

Fibroids pressing on nerves

Doo - I used to have leg/knee/calf pain on right leg BEFORE surgery. It was the strangest thing..seems like when it was close to my period (or immediately after) it'd hurt worse. Matter of fact a few years ago my hip and leg were hurting so bad..they did MRI and it showed complete atrophy in hip...further tests showed it was from nerve damage/pressure on nerve. It was a long process to build my muscles back up. Can't explain it..was never injured...but I did have fibroid. Since surgery I haven't had that. So, it's very possible my problems were connected...not sure of course...but it's gone now.
