Black Friday shopping 8 days post hysterectomy?

Am I crazy to be thinking about going to Walmart Black Friday shopping at post op day 8 daLAVH? It is kinda a family tradition and I hate that I may hafta miss out....Actually been feeling ok, just scared to overdo it or accidentally get bumped into and hurt somebody! LOL

Black Friday comes every year. There will be other Black Fridays. :-)

On a side note, I've been amused to see stores up here in Canada advertising "Black Friday" sales. Our Thanksgiving is the second Monday in October. The day after the fourth Thursday in November really has no significance, but more and more stores seem to be importing the "Black Friday" concept from the States.

I agree with the previous poster. There will always be other sales, but you only have one chance to heal properly. Going to a store as large as Walmart, with other frenzied shoppers who really don't care about pushing or bumping others, is a surefire recipe for disaster. If you do insist on going, use one of their courtesy scooters, because most people will respect a shopper in a scooter, and bring someone with you, who can carry your purchases, and do all the stooping and reaching. Well, I certainly won't call you crazy, but I sure would not go Black Friday shopping 8 days post-op. Even though you had a less invasive surgery, you still had major surgery. No way would I risk shoppers pushing me down and running into me.

I had an outing day 4 post op. I needed stitches out so decided a mall outing was in order. It was by no means busy. I had my sister push me around in a wheel chair. I was pretty pooped after that outing.

If your going to venture out the suggestion of wheel chair/ scooter is a good one. Take your water, pain pills and snacks. And let your family know if you need to head home for a rest.

Im sitting out this year and im 4 weeks post op lol . Everyone heals different but 8 days is maybe a little too soon to take on Black Friday

I will be three weeks post op in a few days......and I went BF shopping. I only went to two stores and was home by 7:30 pm. You just have to listen to your body. I knew when it was time to go home.
