Sacral colpopexy & cervix location?

My main complaint had been my prolapsed uterus. I also had mild incontinence. Dr suggested partial hyst, TVT for the bladder, and sacral colpopexy (lifting the cervix with mesh to the sacrum).

I'm only 8 days out and earlier today I got a little of that "sitting on a ball" feeling again. I was a little curious anyway soooo I gently felt around and could still feel my cervix It seemed a little farther back than before but I was hoping the darn thing would be no where in sight. My dr had said after surgery I wouldn't be able to feel it.

Will it get better, am I just still swollen? Did the colpopexy fail?

On a good note the incontinence does seem fixed, I should be pleased with that...

I don't know for certain, but being only 8 days out I would think that it is swelling.

I am going in on Wednesday for the Abdominal Sacral Colpopexy and I am a bit scared. Did a little too much searching on the procedure and read way too many horror stories.

LOL I was the same way. When I booked the surgery I was feeling confident, then read the stories and was almost scared enough to back out. Obv I did it anyway... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out.

Surgery & recovery wise mine was not bad at all. I hope yours goes well! Keep us posted.

yes probably swelling

I kept my cervix and use Estrace vaginal cream...which means that I am in there smearing that stuff a lot. I can feel my cervix pretty easily. It is not as far up as it was before the prolapse. At 8 days you are probably still swollen. If the mesh was to separate I would think you would have felt that and it would not have been a good thing!
