Five months and still sore......

I am five months post op and still having swelly belly and soreness. It seems it is even more frequent now than before. Has anyone else experienced this at this stage? I am a little concerned as I still have my ovaries and have read instances on this site where the scar tissue can become a problem later on. It seems that now I am swollen more times than I am not, where before I had some days where the swelling seemed less.

From what I have read, the more active you become (In the early stages of recovery) the more the belly swells, since you are 5 months out, you activity level has probably increased 3 fold from just a couple of months ago. I am a year out and still get swelly. Not as often now, but after a full day of activity, gardening, mowing, washing windows, cars, and cleaning-my belly will get a little swollen. If you are concerned, ask your doc, maybe he will want to see you to rule out any complications.... Hugs snickers

I agree with snickers, I to am a year out and remember feeling the way you do. I would mention it to your dr. just to be safe. Hope you feel better soon, the year mark is diffently a good one for most.

Five months and still sore......

Thanks for all the good advice. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow just to be safe. Hopefully, it is nothing serious. It seems a lot of people get the swelling and soreness for up to a year after their surgery. Bummer!! I was hoping that it would be much better by now. It is more annoying than anything else. I guess I can live with it as long as I know that nothing more serious is going wrong. I really appreciate the support and hope everyone is having a great summer.
