Anyone used Danazol/Danocrine?

I go for my US tomorrow to find out if we can get a dx of adenomyosis or have to route for laproscopy to check for endometriosis.

My insurance does not cover Lupron or similar products to treat for endo if that is what my doc finds. Danzol is the only med covered. HOwever, I have a history of migraines, have Fibromyalgia and bipolar. Side effects of this med is can include, muscle cramps and depression. And one of the first things mentioned in the side effects is to tell your doctor if you have ahistory of migraines. I am concerned if this med will make things worse.

Has anyone used this medicine to treat endo? ANY advice will be appreciated.. HELP ME!!!

Anyone used Danazol/Danocrine?

I took Danazol last year for 4 months to stop all bleeding while on an extended overseas trip. It worked! I also had endometriosis - didn't know that until after my hyst.
The side effects I had from Danazol were more acne, darkening of facial hair (I'm the only one who noticed), and enlarged clitoris along with increased libido (great). No headaches.
Dosage can vary, but I think I took 400mg day - that was enough to stop all bleeding. It took about 3 weeks to work.
Danazol was an ideal short term solution for me, but I wouldn't have wanted to take it long term.
Regards

Anyone used Danazol/Danocrine?

Hi there
I have stage 3 endo. I have been on bcp, lupron and danocrine. By far danocrine was the worse for me. I had EXTREME moodswings, angry attitude which isnt me. I stopped after four months. I also noticed weight gain and hair which darkened. I hated that drug and vowed never to go back on it

My doctor agrees with all of YOU!!

I was worried about Danocrine for Endo treatment. I went to my doc today. The ultrasound did not show adenomyosis but I did have a 3.6 mm ovarian cyst on my right ovary. His protocol was to do a laparoscopy. If he finds endo, he will clean me out. He does not want me to use Danocrine or Lupron due to the ill mood swings I have had on BCP. If the endo would come back, we will do a hyst and removal of the ovaries. However, if he does not find any endo, he will do a tvh while I am already under. He still thinks it is adeno based on my symptoms, age, ability to have three children without any problems and that my uterus is only slightly enlarged. I agreed with him. I could have had evrything taken out even if it was endo, but I would rather avoid it if we don't need to and he would rather not do it either until we know the laprascopy was not effective. Thanks for all your advice. Oh, by the way my lap/possible hyst is scheduled for Sept. 26th.

Thanks to you all!!!
