Still so tired at 6 months post-op

Hi All: I haven't posted for a long time but I need some feedback. I am 6 months out from my total hysterectomy. All went fairly well. Lately I have been quite irritable, tired, and emotional. Have been to see my doctor for hormonal adjustment and my Premarin has been increased and so far that seems to help a lot. My main concern is that now I am back to work full time and still very tired. My job allows some flexibility and I have to sleep 2-3 hours many afternoons and work the evening instead. This concerns me since I am feeling trapped by the tiredness. I am wondering if others have experienced this and if it ever goes away.
I am at a spiritual crossroads in my professional life and all is a bit in upheaval. In my personal life I am awaiting news about my Dad's possible heart surgury. While these things are stressful, I find myself more stressed that I am still so tired after 6 months. I would appreciate some feedback.
Blessings!

Honey I'm with ya! I had my stuff yanked out in Dec. and still get very tired and achy by mid-afternoon and need to lie down. Maybe even sooner if I do a lot more than usual. The sisters here tell me it REALLY can take up to a year sometimes longer to completely heal and get back towards normal. I don't anything about the hormone thing since I can't take any. I hope your recovery gets better for you.

Yogini13 we had our surgery on the same day!
I'm with both of you. I sleep from 10 - 11 p.m. till 2 - 3 a.m. and then am up. It's very frustrating.
Other than that, I'm back to normal. I do spinning 4 x's a week, boot camp 2 x's and walk 8 miles on Saturday and then again on Sunday - cannot lose a pound.
I went to a nutritionist, told him about the weight and the sleeplessness. I'm on premarin.
He gave me some vitamins and supplements about 3 weeks ago. He said they should help. I don't know which ones do it, but 3 out of 4 nights, I'm sleeping a bit better.
I must say not having a period anymore is worth it - sort of. It is tough to work, keep house, exercise, take care of kids w/o any sleep!

Still so tired at 6 months post-op

While my surgery was on April 23rd of this year and it hasn't been as long ago as everybody else's, I still tire very easily. I was anemic but my blood is almost up to where is should be. Still, I'm tired all the time and nothing around the house gets done unless I force myself, which I seldom do. I get so moody and feel sad. I don't sleep well at all. I get so hot I feel like I'm in an oven. I get both hotflashes and nightsweats. I have to take my top off before I go to bed, otherwise I'll sweat even more. And what I've noticed lately is that my joints ache quite a bit. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older-I'm 45-or because it's a lack of HRT. It hurts to get out of bed in the morning and it never used to. I have a terrible time concentrating on anything. The least little thing I do tires me completely. I feel like I've climbed a mountain or something. I want my old self back but I know I can't have it. Even taking iron pills doesn't give me much more energy. I just have no ambition to do anything at all. I used to have so many hobbies. But it seems that after the surgery I just don't care to do anything. Anyone else feel like this? Is it going to last forever? I try to get myself to do stuff, and afterwards I need a nap I'm so tired. But even with a nap I have a hard time sleeping.
