TAH October 9

Hello, Im new here . My moods keep changing one minute I'm looking forward to ridding myself of all of my pain and problems associated with this the next I'm absolutely terrified . My husband will be staying with me and fortunately since he is self employed he is able to take off for as long as needed to help me recover. I honestly cant imagine this being any more painful than my normal cycle which usually happens at least every two weeks bleeding through an overnight maxi every thirty minutes to an hour. I have a pelvic mass that is aparently the size of a honeydew melon. I saw a gyno in April and was planning on scheduling surgery for April but I put it off and my neurosurgeon recommended me seeing a gyno oncologist. I am so happy I waited the initial gyno wasn't even worried about the mass now I'm scheduled for possible staging. I just can't believe I almost let her do it and I may have had to have a second or possibly third surgery. My neurosurgeon who I see for two herniated disks couldn't even believe that she wasn't concerned.

Re: TAH October 9

Hi stephstro -

I had a complex ovarian cyst the size of a very large grapefruit, plus numerous uterine fibroids. My surgeon was also a gyn onc, and I was so grateful for that. They are much more skilled at handling the large masses, and can stage should that be necessary. For me, all was tested in the OR and all was benign I hope your results are the same.

Re: TAH October 9

Yes, he is testing everything as he said he doesn't want to go back in, I thought to myself you don't want t go back in how do you think I feel about you going back in lol. I had the pre op blood work done and it didn't come back with anything definite so I was obviously very happy about that. I am just so happy I have a wonderful husband who is extremely supportive and has done everything he can to be as informed as possible. He was even great before we knew what was going on and I was in extreme pain. I couldn't imagine going through this without my husband or my Dr. Both have been great.
