Hysterectomy on Thursday.....Nerves of Steel!

I guess it kind of bothers me that it doesn't bother me.....if that makes sense. I did some extra shopping, put a few easy-to-fix things in the freezer. Picked up stool softener, a couple of more "restrictive" pairs of panties, and a few odds and ends at the store.... Loaded a couple of new books on my Kindle.

Thoughts of the surgery and recovery are not making me nervous at all - I wonder if it will hit me all of a sudden, Wednesday night before I go? Am I weird or what? My only regret is that I won't be able to go to my 13yo's Future Cities competition on Thursday night, we've been working so hard with him and his team on their model and essay - and I have to miss the competition. I'll probably bawl like a baby in front of the nurses that night...

I just wonder if I'm the only one that really isn't nervous about this whole thing.

I wasn't really nervous either. I was actually looking forward to mine. It's kinda like starting a new life without pain. I asked for some meds before they wheeled me into surgery to calm me but I didn't really need them. I am now 11 days post op and I have my good and bad days but it will all be worth it in the end.

It's better to go into it with a possitive attitude and with full preparation! It will be fine! I went into it with no knowledge and became quite depressed !! Had I been more prepAred may be wud have handled it better ! All the best

I am jealous 😜 I am a nervous wreck and I still have 28 days! I think going in it prepared it awesome and I am inspired by the fact that you are not nervous. Good luck to you.

Same here (mine's on Friday) Maybe we're so looking forward to having whatever ails us done and over with that the surgery is just a means to a happier, healthier end. That's how I'm choosing to see it, though, like you, I reserve the right to break down like a baby whenever I feel like it.

Thinking strong, happy thoughts for you Maggie!!!
