No Date: I cant make the call to schedule the surgery...

Ok, So over a month ago I spoke to my new physician and he told me once he got the paperwork from my last physician that I could schedule the surgery date. I can't bring myself to make the call. I don't know why. I've been looking forward to the day when I could schedule the surgery for a TAH, but now that its here...um ya. hehe

A lil about my situation, my uterus and cervix are too scarred for a vaginally hysterectomy, I'm anticipating the recovery to be like my c-section which was almost 10mos ago. I'm a mom of 4 young children, but my hubby is a teacher and will be out for the summer to help w/ the kids.

Anyone else experienced not being able to bring themselves to make the call?

It took almost a month for them to "do" all the stuff that needed to be done for my surgery.
If you want things to happen over the summer, before your hubby goes back to work, I'd suggest you make the call now.

I made the call, scheduled for July 14th. Now its the waiting game hehe.

My DH and I are both teachers. I decided to get it done ASAP and have the summer to recover. I am glad I did. You will definitely enjoy the extra advantage of having your DH home to help you with the kids along with everything else that you shouldn't do. If you try to do to much, you pay for it later.

You have to be the one to make the final decision, however. Do what is best for you. Personally, I am glad to have it over with. The waiting was the hardest part and I only waited 5 weeks from the time I thought I was going to have to have a hysterectomy until actually having it.
