Fast growing Fibroid

My drs say my fibroid is fast growing and may be a sarcoma, the ultrasound tech says she thinks the fibroid was not measured correctly the first scan. Dr is sending me to an oncologist to help him with this complex case. I'm confused, scared and unsure of what to do. I had two scans in 3 months, the tech was an acquaintance who told me more than she should have. Has anyone else experienced a fast growing fibroid? I know they ate usually stable. Please help

Re: Fast growing Fibroid

Fibroids are often fed by hormones and can grow quickly, depending on what else is happening with your body. It's really good that your doc is involving and oncologist, because it means that all the bases are covered if it is anything more than a benign fibroid. I'm having mine out on Friday, and if I had a choice, I'd have a GYN/ONC involved, just in case. It's really scary, I know, but it sounds like you are in really good hands. Your doc is not taking anything for granted, even though it is quite rare for a fibroid to turn out to be anything malignant (I believe only .01% of fibriods turn out to be something sinister).

Re: Fast growing Fibroid

I can't say I have any helpful info for you but I did go before the Lord on your behalf. I'vehI'vehad problems for years and suspected fibroids but put off going to my doctor because I'm so busy with either our Football and baseball programs. I took a trip to Iowa in July and had lost a lot of fat and gained muscle in the previous twelve months. I was squatting 215 bs and benching 135. Suddenly I gained 13 lbs and look four months pregnant I was diagnosed with multiple large and very fat growing fibroids. Hope to get a surgery date soon.
