That's complicated. Hormones are important for overall health, but they can also cause issues with any remaining endo. For women with endo, it can depend on the their doctor as to whether or not HRT will be prescribed. Here's an article that might help: Endometriosis and HRT.

It can depend on what all your doctor does and if he also removes endometriosis.

Have you talked to your doctor? No or low estrogen can cause anxiety and depression, so your symptoms could intensify.

Depending on their ages, you'll need some help or you can create charts so they can help around the house. I was around 9 (and the oldest of 5) when my mom had her hysterectomy, and I had a 3 and 5 yr old when I had mine. It's workable with some planning. We had people come help us when I was little, and my mom and MIL stepped for me. I ended up with complications after my hysterectomy so our plans ended up all changing, but my MIL was able to take care of me and kids during the day and my DH took care of us in the evenings and weekends.

My best advice is to get an endometriosis specialist. If any endo remains after your hysterectomy--and the methods most OB/GYN's use doesn't let them remove all endo from all areas, then you can continue to have issues. A hysterectomy is not a cure for endo, even if you have your ovaries removed.

You should also find a doctor who is knowledgeable about hormones to help you balance the pros and cons for your particular situation--it's complicated and not using HRT simply because you have endo may not be the best choice. I kept both of my ovaries even with stage IV endo diagnosis as my doctors felt the benefits of my own hormones outweighed all the other risks.

Re: Questions about upcoming hysterectomy, Hrt with endo...... And other stuff

I'm on meds for chronic depression. I didn't find that I needed to increase my dosage, either when I went through natural menopause or four years later when I had my hysterectomy. I *did* find that I needed to "design" my recovery with an eye to my psychological as well as physical needs.

Being outdoors and physically active is an important part of how I manage my depression. I built a day nest in the sunny living room so that I wouldn't have to spend daylight hours in my rather dark bedroom. I also stocked up on throw pillows. I took them outside with a book or some sewing and spent a lot of time sitting outside. I started taking short walks outside on my first full day home from the hospital, four days after surgery.
