Extended Hospital stay

Well its over, The surgery went well, day 2 in the hospital the vomiting and diarreha hit. I was very sick for 3 days. Couldnt keep anything down. Not even pain meds. Had CT scan to check bowels and everything was clear. Finally on the 4th day i had some cream of wheat, i went from feeling like jumping off a bridge to ready to go home in 5 hours. My incision is all the way above my belly button. After 6 days im home. Im tired and dragged out feeling. The surgery part of it was pretty much a breeze. Im taking Motrin for pain and feeling pretty good. Weird but when i lay down i feel empty. I had a TAH BSO. My hospital had a great staff of nurses and my Dr was great also. I was at one point feeling like i was going backwards on my recovery. Im tired and sore but have no real serious pain. Hopefully its all up hill from here. Good luck to anyone getting ready. I will say walking and drinking lots of water helps. What really stinks is i didnt loose a pound. But thats just me. Thanks for listening.

Welcome to the other side! I am glad that you got through being sick and that things will be better from now on. Keep resting, eating well and walking. Be sure to drink lots and lots of water so that the stool softeners or the fiber can do its job.
