No Nail Polish at All !!!

I had a pedicure yesterday!! The sassy color I picked was royal Purple- great choice huh? Well, I read my hospital instructions for the 2nd time and called the hospital for clarification about my nail polish on my toes. Because, it said, "Do not wear any cosmetic, including nail polish or eye makeup. (Acrylic nails are fine, but the polish must be removed from one finger on each hand). Well ladies, I thought I was ahead of the game I removed all my nails and the polish. Now, the gal says No Polish anywhere----- well I wonder how many gals come in with pretty toes and then what?
So, I asked my DD to remove my pretty purple polish!! I will have my DD buy some pretty purple nail polish, and put it on my toes when I get home--- First I will ask a nurse or Dr. if that's o.k. . I Do Do Do want to and will follow the rules!!! Sisters entering the castle the week of Dec. 13th lets share our stories on the other side . I enter the castle at 6:15 a.m. tomorrow and surgery at 7:30 a.m. ( 2 1/2 hours) Vaginal Hyst. and repairs. God bless every sister. Sincerely, Gloria

No Nail Polish at All !!!

Sorry about your toes! Each hospital is different. That was one thing that gave me a little lift going into the weekend.

I still need to paint mine tonight if I can ever get through this BP...Yuck!! I still have to gather my things and pack. Yikes!!

I'll be thinking of you as I enter the castle tomorrow. I check in at 7:00 am for a 9:00 procedure.

Good Luck to you!!

No Nail Polish at All !!!

Sorry you had to take your polish off. My castle did not allow any polish, either.

I'm jealous of your ability to have a pedicure, though. My feet are way, way too ticklish for that!!

My hospital said no fingernail polish, but toe nail polish was OK. Go figure.

No Nail Polish at All !!!

they wont the nail polish off because (and this is somthing a theater nurse told me) they like to be able to see by your nails for monitoring at a glance. for example if there is a problem with oxygen the nail area turns blue.

also she said they have had nail polish flacking off and false nails falling off too.
i suppose they dont wont any risks of these things during your surgery.

i dont know why some hospitals would allow it while others dont though.

i would love to have purple nails, i cant even remember the last time i bought nail polish.
im going to look for some at the store tomorrow.
i think thats just what i need.
and some new clothes too, heack its christmas after all.
take care..
