Special Soap to Use Before Surgery...

Hi~

I just came from my pre-op testing @ the hosptial and was given a special soap to use prior to surgery, it's called Triseptin and it is an antiseptic. Have any of you used it prior to surgery? I am having a TAH in 3 days and feel pretty good about using the soap because I am really afraid of getting an infection afterward and this is supposed to significantly reduce the chance of that.

Just curious if anyone else had to use it~

I had my TAH 6/24. I also used a special antiseptic soap. Can't remember name. I used it on my whole body except my face and vagina. Especially used it on my tummy. So far my incision is healing well. Had my 26 staples out today and the incision site looks great. Wishing you peace and strength on your upcoming visit to the castle

I had LSH and was not given a special soap but many on this site report that they were given special antibacterial soaps to use.

I was not given or instructed to use any special soap. I would imagine I will be given a betadine wash over the belly once I'm sleeping.

I was given that same soap and told to use it the night before and the morning of my surgery from right under my breast to my knees.

I have hibiclens. Used it last night and will do again this morning...

I have my pre-op today @1:30 do I need to take notes or will they give me pamplets,papers I am kinda of nervous about this

I also had to use the Hibiclense... had to get it from Walgreens.. they told me to wash my belly 2 times for 5 minutes each in the 24 hours prior to surgery along with the Fleets to prep my bowel...
