First Period After D&C

Just started my first period after having a D&C about 3 weeks ago. I was hoping that it would be better then they have been but it is no better whatsoever!! The pain and heavy bleeding is horrible! Have any of you had this happen? I thought I would get maybe a few months relief before things got worse again but no such luck!!!

First Period After D&C

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one! I had my D&C in July, (unable to do ablation by NovaSure) and August and September periods were horrific! Oh yea, the cramping was comparible to early labor pains too. My doctor assured me he took the lining down as far as he could and removed a ton of polyps...they were even invading the entrance to my tubes! So how in the world was I bleeding and clotting far worse than before?

On the plus side, I'm just finishing my 3rd period post D&C; and although it wasn't light by any means, it was manageable and very little cramping. I actually was able to go shopping for a couple hours during those heavy days. One thing, I didn't pass those huge clots like the previous months. Is it possible that the D&C takes a few months to show results? I had one five years ago and didn't notice a change at all. I figure if I don't have a hyst, I'll be having D&C's every five years or so. I'm 50...hope I'm not still bleeding at 55.

I'm getting the Mirena Coil next month but am not really counting on that helping much, but it's worth a try.

First Period After D&C

I had a D & C after a failed Novasure and had the heavy bleeding also. It continued right up until I finally had my SAH/BSO. There are other tyes of ablation such as rollerball that might be more effective. My doctor didn't perform that type but was willing to refer me to someone who did.
