Hard Belly post-op

Hi there

I wonder if anyone else has had this or can give me a bit of advice please.

I had my Full Hysterctomy in January 2007. it was for endometrian and ovarian cancer.

since i last saw my oncologist i have a very hard stomach, all around my belly button.. its not there when i lay down, only when i stand up and when i put my jeans on, my belly used to squash ( if you know what i mean) into them but now the hard belly will not move.

Apparantly during my operation, as they stitched me up, they managed to stitch a bit of my bowel in there too!! could it be that?

This last week i had a cold and am coughing a lot when i'm in bed.. it hurts like mad to cough as i feel my "lump" will explode.

Am i a freak?

How do you know a part of your bowel was stitched in.? I had a total hyst. and suffer from swollen belly and yes it does get pretty hard at times.. That and numbness are quite common. What did the oncologist say when you saw him/her?

My oncologist told me they'd stitched part of my bowel in and that ideally he didnt want to open me up again to sort it out if i could cope.. the thing is i can't but as i said i'm unsure if it is this or something else

i guess no-one knows then?
