Low to no sex arousal 8 weeks out- HRT?

Its been 8 weeks since my LAVH. I had my cervix and right ovary removed as well. I brought myself to an orgasm when I was 3 weeks post op, but now that I am cleared for sex, I can't orgasm alone or with DH. The things that used to do it for me are not working. I read that sometimes even if you keep an ovary, it can not work or not work well enough. Do I need to be on HRT? I'm afraid I've ruined myself, especially after reading that tubal ligation often leads to increased bleeding and hysterectomy. Does sex get better on its own?

Sorry that you are having problems! My doctor said the same thing to me; ovaries can quit working post-surgery. Sometimes it can take quite a while for them to kick back in, and sometimes they don't ever "wake up".

I kept both my ovaries and have no idea if I'm in menopause or not. Doc said that not all women experience hot flashes, night sweats etc. There are blood tests to see if the ovaries are working though.

I'd call my doctor and discuss the situation with him/her. They have the knowledge and access to tools that can help you find a solution.

InAZ is right....never hurts to call the doctor....it took my ovaries about 3 months to wake up after surgery. Your body has been through so much....give it time to adjust. Take care!!!

Thank you for you responses. I kind of feel like going to the doctor with this would be bothering her not so important stuff. Except it is important. I just hope the situation does fix itself without HRT. I took hormones before doing the cryoablation to try to get my period to stop and my period never stopped, but I was out 2 days with a killer migraine. But it is early yet in the recovery process so I can give it some more time.

Well I have no ovaries but I can orgasm, no worries. Have you started an antidepresant because that will cause anorgasmia, as can other medications.

It may just take time for your ovary to wake back up. I think if you just give it a little more time you should start feeling normal again. It just takes a while. Best wishes.
