Swelly Belly Band

Hey, I just wanted to thank you all for this interesting discussion on the swelly belly band. I was very hesitant about getting one for my soon-to-be horizontal incision but I am going to order one today so that I can practise with it before my op. I'm already having problems with my appetite because I had WLS August 6. Don't get me wrong, it has been marvelous as I've lost 55 lbs in 9 weeks without exercising. My gyn op was supposed to take place in the same OR right after my gastric bypass but my gyn-surgeon had an emergency and couldn't make it. I was extremely disappointed since the recovery phase was painful and I would have preferred to go through one op instead of two. But it couldn't be helped. Anyway, this time, I will have my surgeon's attention focused on my yucky cervix and any other abnormalities she might find. I will be able to remain under anesthetic longer (the WLS took almost two hours) so I will be able to be confident that she gets out all of the bad stuff she finds and will be able to deal delicately with any adhesions. I will have the same anesthesiologist (a real charmer) so I am confident in that area. And I don't need a cardiac clearnace since I was already approved for surgery 9 weeks ago. Good thing I am still strong enough to undergo another op so soon, despite my very poor appetite and exhaustion. I really must get off my bum and get outside for at least 1/2 hour a day while my DH is sleeping, to build up a little muscle. I have to admit, though, because DH is not willing to or able to discuss my feelings of fear, sadness and anxiety that I am a bundle of nerves. I remember how long and painful the recovery from my hyster was. I know I must get up and walking around the hosp hallways so that I can be released asap. My DH won't visit me since he is quite ill so I will be alone. Also, I had severe problems with asthma and fibromyalgia post op but I will have a chance to warn my gyn-surg again when I go for the pre-op. Again, I appreciate all of your input re: the band.
