Still Pain 4+ Months after hysterectomy.

Hello Ladies,

I'm 4+ months post abdominal hysterectomy (left ovaries). I'm still in quite a bit of pain and discomfort. I saw my surgeon on Wednesday and she's not sure if it's just taking my body a lot longer to heal or if its turning into a chronic pain condition.

She prescribed pregabalin (sp?) for nerve pain in hopes it helps. Just curious if anyone else has a similar experience they'd be willing to share? The phrase 'chronic pain' has left me worried. I'm 42 and don't want to live with this pain forever.

I'm 41 and almost 5 months post TAH and have recently had severe pain in my lower back - so bad that I couldn't pick anything up off the floor. A trip to the docs told me I had a UTI and needed antibiotics. You don't mention where your pain is but it could be worn asking them to investigate for an infection. I have been told my a few friends who had hysterectomies years ago that it takes a year to fully recover and feel completely well again.

Majority of my pain is lower abdomen. The best description I can give it is it's the same pain from the day after my surgery; only milder of course. That pulling/heavy feeling and the odd sharp pain on the sides
