Pain in my lower belly

I am new to this site I had my surgey 7-7-08 they took my ovarys uterus and cervix,I had masses in both ovarys. I found out no cancer with pathology report. I thought I was doing good however I am having pain in my belly very low. I want to hold it as I get up and walk like I did in the hosiptal. I had my surgey done old fashion way I was cut up and down, over 50 staples. I cry all the time and am having a hasr time sleeping any advise would be great.
Thanks
Shawn

Pain in my lower belly

I can totally identify with you. I did keep both of my ovaries but I was also cut up and down. I was cut from above belly button down. I had a 22 week uterus that was full of fibroids. I had 30 staples. I am almost 7 months post opp and feel great physically but still not so great emotionally. I don't really cry all that much but I do have a lot of ill moments. I was never able to have children and that is what has made this harder for me. I'm glad your pathology report was good. I still have a hard time sleeping and I'm not sure exactly what it is due to. I usually take advil or tylenol pm when I have a hard time sleeping. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Talk to your doctor and see what they recommend. I hope you can heal quickly. Hugs and best wishes.

Pain in my lower belly

Did your doctor give you a binder? I didn't order one from this site because I didn't think I'd need it. Thank goodness the hospital gave me one. I wear it when I'm up and about walking and at night because it's much more comfortable to sleep with it on.

Congrats on the no-cancer pathology report. That is good news!

Pain in my lower belly

If this pain started after you had already been feeling good, I would check with the Dr. to be on the safe side.
Years ago after my c-section I was healing up and started to walk fine and then I started walking bent over and hold myself again, turned out to be an infection (small one) they treated it really quickly, I do mean quick, the next day it all came out and I was back to recovery with barely a hiccup.
I don't say this to scare you but only to keep you safe. Go through your checklist of things to watch out for and call if you are unsure.
I just had 1/4 inch of my incision bust open 3 days ago after being 4 weeks post op and thought ohmygosh! infection, turned out to be a dissolving stitch that dissolved and the skin at the surface wasnt healed together strong enough to stay closed.
