4 weeks post op

I am 4 weeks post op, davinci and still have my ovaries. My surgery was on 12/16/11 and everthing went fine. 2 weeks and 2 days after my surgery, I started bleeding and have not stopped to this day. I only have to wear one panty liner per day. Is this normal?

Re: 4 weeks post op

Hello I had my surgery 2 days before you. I myself only had light spotting for a couple hours after my surgery. I see a lot of women post on here about spotting though. Have you talked with your doctor about it?
I hope things get better. Hugs and god bless

Re: 4 weeks post op

Have you been doing too much? Do you still have your cervix? 2 weeks of bleeding I would call my doctor.

Re: 4 weeks post op

I do not have my cervix. My follow up appt is on Tuesday, 1/17/12. I called the dr when I started bleeding and they told me it is normal to bleed any time during the first month after surgery. I just don't get it though. Doesn't seem right to me. I don't hurt or anything.I guess I will get all my questions answered on Tuesday. Thanks!!!!

Re: 4 weeks post op

It could be the vaginal cuff. Some of the ladies here have needed silver nitrate treatment on the cuff. Stay off your feet as much as possible.

Re: 4 weeks post op

Had my dr visit on 1/17/12. She said the bleeding is from the vaginal cuff. She treated me with silver nitrate. Its 3 days later and I'm still bleeding. Called dr office and they said if I haven't stopped by Moday to give them a call back. Grrr!!!

Re: 4 weeks post op

I"m just like you-glad you posted. I'm going to hopefully see my Dr. in a few hours (he is in a surgery now) or tomorrow for some left sided tenderness/pain but I too have had red bleeding ever since-I am 5 weeks today-it's of course like you-a panty liner or two or three a day, I'm just bummed-i'm tired of wearing any pads or liners!

good luck and make sure you tell your Dr. it is RED.

Anxious to hear what the doctor says. I am starting to do the same thing at 2 weeks.
