3 days post-op what to expect
Just had an LVAH plus ovaries 3 days ago. All went well and waiting for the pathology. Just got home. Had fibroid tumors and cysts and endometriosis. Also recovering from open heart surgery 4 months ago which led us to this path. Need help in what to expect as far as hormonal issues go?

I am not on any hormonal treatment and may not be able to take anything due to prior stroke.

3 days post-op what to expect
Caliclover,
We share our surgery date. I seem to be doing pretty well. I probably have been moving around a bit much today. It's so hard when you're at home. They let me out of the hospital before I had my first post-op bowel movement, so I'm apprehensive to say the least about that.
I had the verticle abdominal incision, so I'm having to deal with staples. They are starting to itch me and I'm still getting some burning sensations inside on the left side. My right side is feeling pretty good. Either that, or pretty numb.
Right now, we are not even thinking about hormone replacement until we get the final pathology report back. Even though the onco was there, they decided not to take lymph nodes or do any omentum sampling, so I'm hoping that's a good thing. I am having back pains - don't know if they're gas or if they're from laying in bed funny.
The gyn/onco said that I will be on something at least for my bones and heart. He said if all the findings hold (that they got everything and it wasn't 50% or more thru the uterine wall), then he wouldn't be opposed to me being on some of the herbal or bio-identical therapies.
Wishing you the best. It's gonna get better each day, right?
I'm heading back to bed!

singsong, 63, We need to keep in touch. I feel pretty good too in fact I seem to want to clean and stuff which is weird and not good for me I know. I too was exited about having a BM and finally did so this morning and it did not really hurt as I expected. Still waiting to get rid of the poofy tummy. Good luck on the path reports, Keep smiling and rest well

Hubby knew I was successful on the BM front last night because he heard strains from the Hallelujah chorus coming from the bathroom. I have been eating prunes, taking Colace and pushing the fluids, so I hardly felt it at all. Hopefully, that doesn't change.
