Did anyone NOT do a bowel prep?

i have to use suppository night before and fleet the morning of. I didnt read yet and never heard of using oj. does it say this on the box or was that dr. directions?
does anyone know how long it took to clear everything after doing either of these things? like should i allow an hour (or more) to do them?

I took 30 mL at 3 and didn't go until about 5. I am supposed to take more at 6:00. Dr. told me I could mix w/oj. Also I had a liquid diet all day, so I guess my experience could be worse... Eat light the day before also.

I did not have a bowel prep and boy, do I wish I had. I am two weeks post surgery (TVH) and have had two VERY painful days (one last week, one this week) trying to get things moving that don't want to move!

I don't know what causes it, but I had no narcotics so it wasn't that. I was not put out either -- had a spinal, so it's not anesthesia. I think stretching some body parts must crush others....if you know what I mean!

I was wondering the same since so many seemed to have one and I didn't. I know from past abdominal surgery that it can be a problem but my surgery is supposed to be laproscopic so I don't really know if it has the same effect as abdominal surgery. I have been taking softeners since Tuesday and eating prunes and taking benefiber too... I also ate lighter than usual today, prunes, apple juice, chicken soup, a couple of pretzels and a small sandwich. (I guess it started out light and then I got hungry!!!)Will figure it out for sure in a couple of days...
