Sex...does it hurt???

Ok. Going on my 4th week Post Op. Tell me....does it hurt the first time with sex??? I'm getting a little nervous about that and haven't ventured that way yet, but hubby is getting anxious. Any thoughts or comments would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sex...does it hurt???

Friend, I felt anxious just like you. My gyn told me to wait until 6weeks, but I tried self stim at about 3 weeks. Then DH petted me the next week, when I climaxed, he smiled and exclaimed "well, it still works!" Many hystersister posted that the first few time they had intercorse they were either tight or sore. For me, I used lubrication (Astroglide) on myself and DH the first time we had intercorse, and it did NOT hurt - I never even felt sore. BUT I was scared and so was hubby, but he went slowly and I was on top. The next time, we tried with me on bottom and that did not hurt either. Then finally, the next time DH went much deeper, and he said he could feel my scar - I did get a tad sore that time.

All in all, I was scared but it was FUN...and not spotting...Suzy

Sex...does it hurt???

I can only speak for myself but I had no pain the first time. It was a little awkward because we were afraid it would hurt but everything went well. We got the OK at six weeks but waited about seven to be sure (and to get up the nerve to try!)

Lots of luck to you!

Sex...does it hurt???

My dh and I were more nervous than anything, there was no real pain involved, just a lot of anxiety and tension on my part and he was nervous because he did not want to hurt me. So the first time around was not that great for us, I had a couple glasses of wine the second time around and that helped with my anxiety. It gets better with practice LOL

Have fun

Sex...does it hurt???

Thanks for all the advice. DH and I are going away for a long weekend 6 days before my "6" week mark and I want to have "fun". I'm thinking about trying it and if it hurts then I can stop, and if it doesn't.....then...... I just love this website!

Sex...does it hurt???

My dr gave me the "all clear" to have sex at the 4 week mark. I waited until 6 weeks to have sex because my abdomen was really sore. When my husband and I had sex - it didn't hurt - and the "O" was so much better.

Sex...does it hurt???

Though I am no where near ready for this, it is one thing I am so worried about. Sex was so great until the diagnosis of my cyst on Aug 7th. hubby was so afraid of hurting me or rupturing it that he was so careful things weren't very pleasant. He has been such a mother hen since the surgery, I'm afraid it will be month before we have anything approaching normal again in the sex dept. I definately want to wait until it is safe and want to be cautious, but not too cautious.
