TAH: hospital stay and bladder sling concerns

Hey! I'm in Dallas, GA and I'm wondering about TAH?
I'm having mine at <oops! information removed for your pre-op safety and security> on August 27th. How long were you in the hospital? When the Dr. and I first talked about hysterectomy, he told me I would stay overnight. But after my D&C...he said I have to have TAH and remove the ovaries. I forgot to ask him how long I would be in the hospital.

I had mine at Cobb Hospital. I had my TAH at 1:15 on Monday and I was released Tuesday at 7:00pm. They don't play about sending you home! The longest stay is 2 days, but they try to send you home as soon as you get up and walking around well. You also have to go to the bathroom.

I'm thinking of the bladder sling as well. Did your urologist have to come in for the bladder sling? If so, how did you know it was time for it? I was told by my urologist that my bladder is low. I've had every test they could do that ruled out no cancer and that I'm just one of the lucky ones that always has blood in urine.

I do go to the restroom OFTEN! I pass a restroom or think of it and have to go. I also have sneezed and leaked a few times as well. So, I was thinking why not do it at the same time as the hysterectomy but I have to ask the urologist and haven't done it yet.

Not at all! But really you are about ready to go at that point. Are you nervous? Funny thing is I wasn't until they started to put me under. I was so tried of being in pain every single day!
