Bladder answer

I posted (about a week ago) about how, when I had to pee, I'd pee but JUST as my bladder was emptying, I had this pressure/pain in my abdomen. I said that I'd get an answer from my doctor and post it here when I found out WHY this was happening.

I had my last post-op yesterday and mentioned it to the doctor. He said that (although it wasn't the case with me), sometimes endometreosis attaches itself to the bladder and, when it's removed, the bladder has to heal so it may be painful to pee until it's healed.

In my case, he said what it probably was is that, when you have a hysterectomy, the bladder has to be repositioned and sometimes it takes a while for the bladder to recover.

He gave me a urinalysis just to check for infection (there wasn't any) and for blood in the urine (which there was a touch of blood but he said that's to be expected too).

Hi Stacy68
Thank you for reporting back on this. It's amazing how long it can take the bladder to heal. Are you feeling any better than you did and did your dr say how long it might take for this to clear up?

Something that my doctor also told me is that the vaginal cuff is swollen and pressing against the bladder, causing it to feel not-so-good, too.

I think it HAS gotten a little better since I first noticed it. And sometimes it's not as bad as other times. He never said how long it would last (hopefully not long!)

I had my 5 week exam yesterday and my doctors associate gave me an exam where she checked to feel if I were healing inside properly (you know...just placed a couple fingers in "there", felt around while pressing on my abdomen). I could feel I wasn't 100% healed yet because, although it really didn't hurt, it was very uncomfortable...so it may very well be soemthing to do with the cuff not healed 100% too.

That's great, I'm glad to hear that it's starting to feel better!

I know my bladder doesn't feel good sometimes... other times, it seems just fine. I think it may have to do with how much I stress it - waiting too long, overfilling it, etc.
