Shouldn't it be gone by now???

The swelly belly, that is. It's usually fine (just a little swollen) as long as I'm sitting on my butt doing nothing. But let me get up and start moving around and I start looking like the Goodyear blimp!
My day off was yesterday. So my friend and I went to the tanning salon and then went shopping. Yeah, I know I just went shopping Monday but who's keeping track lol.
By the time I got home, I was so swollen and have been swollen all day today!
Please tell me that this swelly belly isn't going to still be hanging around when we go on vacation in July! Because in my 2 shopping sprees, I bought all size 6's for vacation. They are going to be too tight if I still have this swelly belly!

clothes!!

Hey cajunbabe, are the clothes you wear out when you go places like that kind of snug or tight? If so this may be causing your swelly belly to return, or at least thatis what my dr said. I am only 6weeks post-op but after about 2 1/2 weeks mine was gone. Then around 3 1/2 weeks I went out and wore jeans and within one hour my swelly belly was back. Still does it now if i wear anything that is kind of snug at all. Do not mean to bust your bubble or anything, that is just my experience. Have a greattime on your vacation and be safe.

I stil had some swelly belly until about 4-5 months post op. It was worse on days I was active.

Keep in mind that although the initial recovery period is typically about 6-8 weeks it can take many months to be completely healed.

You may want to pick up a few more pieces of comfortable clothing for your vacation just in case you are still swollen - draw string capris are very comfortable.

Some of them are, but not all of them. I have a couple pairs of jeans and shorts that were too big for me before I had surgery. So I have been wearing them. But the ones I had on yesterday, were pretty snug.
